![]() ![]() ![]() They are fighting because of a genuine conflict between the two rather than some bullshit sparring match like Saejima vs Majima in Y4 and 5. Plus (this is a pretty crucial element for making it satisfying) they're actually trying to stop one another. ![]() Kiryu vs Akiyama is perfect because they both have justifiable reasons to fight. Yakuza 6's story is pretty eh on retrospect, but they get this aspect right. The returning voices were more mixed:īecause bad man wants them to and if Majima wins, Haruka will die? If Majima wants Haruka to live then why is he even putting up a fight? Why the fuck is he doing his crazy laugh and comedy "ORE" noise? It's like they designed all the gameplay then wrote a half hearted story around it. Note the hilarity of english localization going to the trouble of finding an actual korean guy to voice the korean character. Ichiban was good, so was the rest of the team. It felt pretty weird to have english VO, I switched back and forth and decided I mostly like the english voices. ![]() So maybe the next game will have more developed jobs. The musician being the only class with unique mechanics that are almost totally pointless tells me they intended more systems like that but ran out of time. Way too little transfers between classes, mostly stats, which is lame. The classes themselves also felt pretty half baked-it seemed almost every character's best job was their default, so the other classes were mainly gimmicks to buff stats and give you a few special moves. It seems you could have worked this into the TB system pretty easily but what do I know. I'm shocked they pretty much threw away the Heat system spending MP to spam special moves just doesn't have the same appeal as the combo-combo-heat rhythm of the prior games. The job system was fun enough but the combat was pretty basic. He comes back is also the point where the story almost runs off the rails. ![]()
